GETTING READY FOR YOUR SESSION
REST UP
This is the most important thing you can do in the days leading up to your photo-session and for anyone sharing it with you.
STAY HYDRATED
Drink plenty of water. Limit or avoid drinking alcohol or carbonated beverages the day before your session.
AVOID SUN EXPOSURE
Be mindful of the sun in the days leading up. Avoid sunburns, tan lines & spray tans.
MOISTURIZE
Avoid dry, cracked lips by keeping them moisturized, with a lip balm or using a DIY lip scrub the night before.
THE NIGHT BEFORE
Have your ironed/pressed wardrobe on a hanger, accessories, and shoes ready and set aside. Look up directions to location. Give yourself enough time in the morning to have a tea or coffee and snack, and get out the door.
GET A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP
With your items ready to go you should wake up calm & feeling great!
HAIR AND MAKE UP
Style and groom hair and facial hair. Fresh faced, clean shaven, natural make-up, whatever your style, bring your best along with any products you may need for a touch ups. (comb, hairbrush, lipgloss, etc.)
DON’T FORGET
Check for clean hands and nails. Use hand lotion. Avoid chipped nail polish on hands and feet.
Wardrobe Tips
Be as casual or dressy as you like. Jeans and a favorite button up or tee, skirt, blazer/sports jacket. It is up to you. Add an easily removable layer for a different look if you like. While we may not photograph each outfit bring several options pressed or steamed and on a hanger. Wrinkles are very difficult to remove in post. These are simple guidelines. The most important thing to remember is to wear something that represents you and makes you feel good. It’s a great time to explore your existing wardrobe. Pops of color are textures are great. Stuck? Notice a color that when you wear it you get complimented on. Be sure to do a mirror “fit check” the week of your scheduled photo-shoot and see how the outfit moves.
Local Buy Nothing groups, Moss Designer Consignment , or UPTOWN Cheapskate stores are great places to check out if you feel like expanding your options. Don't forget shoes, hats, or jewelry.
